Death Seem'd to Stare: The New Hampshire and Rhode Island Regiments at Valley Forge, by Joseph Lee Boyle (MyFamily.com, Inc., Baltimore MD, 2005). includes over 2,500 records of name, rank, date and term of enlistment, name of regiment and company. If you are a member of Ancestry.com it is available as an online set of page images called "Death Seem'd to Stare".

"New Jersey Pensioners, 1835" (1,844 records) may be searched on Ancestry.com You may find it by clicking "Search", scroll down to and click "Military" and then scan down that list until you find the book.

New Jersey Public Archives (NJPA) has an excellent collection of Revolutionary War documents.
NJPA has compiled service records, service abstract slips, and the documents noted on the service abstract lists. You may ask them to look up a specific name and they can copy and mail you photocopies of the material for that person at $1/page.
-- The (searchable) card catalog of the NJPA will be posted on the Web in 2005.
-- The NJPA has posted a list of the microfilms that they can copy and mail to you, including an index to Revolutionary War manuscripts.

New Mexico  

New Mexico was not part of the British colonies, but many residents were involved in the Spanish military and financial support of the United States after Spain declared war on Great Britain. They are listed in the page on Spanish participants

New York  

New York in the Revolution, by Berthold Fernow as reprinted by the Genealogical Publ. Co. (Baltimore MD, 1999), has 10,846 records of service. The original title was "Documents Relating to the Colonial History of the State of New York", Vol. XV (Albany, NY 1887). Pages 534-7 has a few rosters for the Green Mountain Boys, a unit originally organized under the authority of New York. These soldiers were recruited in what is now the state of Vermont. Page images are available to subscribers of Ancestry.com.

New York in the Revolution as Colony and State, by James A. Roberts, (Weed-Parsons Printing Co., Albany, 1897) Pages 48-9 have information on the Green Mountain Boys. Page images are available to subscribers of Ancestry.com.

Colonial History of the State of New York, by B. Fernow (Weed, Parsons, and Co., Albany NY, 1887) Vol. 1 has numerous lists of military and other participants in the Revolution.

North Carolina  

North Carolina in the Revolutionary War [a RootsWeb project] has a number of RW pension application files on-line. There are hundreds of names in the Abstract of the Army Accounts of the North Carolina Line and this page also has about a dozen unit rosters.

The bibliography [/battleofcamden.org] for the Battle of Camden SC on August 16, 1780 has references to documentation of service and
a roster database for the soldiers from many states (both sides) and Great Britain who fought here.
